Year 4/5 - Mr Tucker

Welcome to 5T’s class page!

In our classroom you will see children working hard and engaging with challenging tasks. We encourage the children to think deeply about their learning and work to the best of their ability. We aim to provide a broad, challenging and enriching curriculum that will equip children with the necessary skills to respond to the opportunity and challenge of the rapidly changing world.

Children learn to work respectfully alongside their peers in order to achieve the school’s motto: ‘Working together to achieve the best!’

Our topic for the Spring term:

The children learned about the features of a rainforest. During the term the children completed many literacy tasks based on the text 'Running Wild', focusing on using relative clauses, fronted adverbials and adventurous vocabulary.

Mo came to visit us during an RE session to discuss what it is like to be a Muslim in modern day Britain.

To promote enjoyment of reading, the children created story books based on 'Whatever Next.' We then visited Y1 & 2 to read our stories!

In January, we participated in the 'Young Voices' concert, joining a choir of 5000 children at the Genting Arena in Birmingham.

This year we have taken part in two 'Bikeability' sessions, focussing on bike safety and how to fix their bikes.
