GDPR STATEMENT

Data Protection law in the UK is changing this May. It’s called the General Data Protection Regulation (G.D.P.R) and it affects all organisations and businesses that use your data and information. It gives more control to individuals and reinforces our responsibility to protect and hold your data. It affects everyone and schools must comply too.

Data must be: processed lawfully, fairly and transparently; collected for specific, explicit and legitimate purposes; limited to what is necessary for the purposes for which it is processed; accurate and kept up to date; held securely and only retained for as long as is necessary for the reasons it was collected.

At Tillington Manor we have always been committed to data protection and have strict data protection policies in place to make sure data is kept secure and used appropriately. You will not notice many changes because as a school we have an obligation to keep children safe and deliver a high standard of education. As such, you will have already filled out consent forms for your child. However, G.D.P.R gives you a chance to recognise some of your key rights when it comes to your personal data.
